High Purity CaCO₃

Turning oyster shells into
high-purity calcium carbonate

A development line that combines oyster shells — a clean raw material — with C-PCC technology to make high-purity calcium carbonate. It aims to reuse CO₂ generated in the process.

Validation status

  • Ultra-high-purity calcium carbonate test report — to be issued by Gyeongsang National University (Tongyeong)
  • Feedstock expansion from oyster shells to industrial by-products (planned 2029 · 2030)
  • Measured purity and whiteness will be published after test reports are obtained

Market

High-purity grades command different prices

Domestic high-purity calcium carbonate production is about 100,000 t, with high-purity grades traded at KRW 500,000–700,000 per tonne. Buyers include electronic materials, fine chemicals, food additives and pharmaceuticals, as well as functional-filler users such as PVC synthetic leather — the same group as existing C-PCC customers.
