Policy & Public Partnership
A demonstration partner that verifies policy goals in the field. CARBON-U turns waste reduction, resource circulation and carbon neutrality into measurable results within one process.
Policy Fit
How we connect to policy priorities
| Policy area | CARBON-U's contribution | Related technology |
|---|---|---|
| Resource circulation · waste reduction | Turns landfilled by-products and oyster shells into feedstock, and even residue into construction materials | C-PCC · Zero-Waste |
| Oyster-shell upcycling · fishery by-products | Turns limited local treatment capacity and ocean dumping into product demand | OCC · Bio CaCl₂ · high-purity CaCO₃ |
| K-GX (Korean Green Transformation) | Demonstrated technology linked to K-GX CCUS, industrial decarbonization, circular-economy special zones and regional GX — See policy fit → | C-PCC · OCC |
| Carbon neutrality · CCUS | CCU fixing CO₂ in calcium carbonate; carbon mineralization and onshore storage next | C-PCC · Carbon Mineralization |
| Industrial by-product upcycling | High-value upcycling of steel slag · CBS dust · fly ash | C-PCC |
| Regional problem-solving · regional industry | Regional waste → regional production → regional jobs | Tongyeong OCC pilot |
| Import substitution · supply chain | Replaces imported solid CaCl₂ and mined/imported calcium carbonate | Bio CaCl₂ · OCC |
Track Record
Public project experience
High-grade calcium carbonate synthesis plant · total program KRW 17.7 billion
Calcium carbonate–titanium dioxide composite white pigment
Carbon-neutral PVC synthetic leather fabric
Partnership Models
How we can work together
Demonstration projects
Pilot sites and feedstock linkage based on regional waste · joint demonstration
Government R&D
Joint TIPS · environment/CCU R&D · regional problem-solving projects
Policy pilots · regulatory sandbox
Recognition as circular resources, new-material certification, procurement-linked pilots
Public–private–industry cooperation
Consortia with local governments · fisheries · demand companies · research institutes
CARBON-U does not aim to replace existing recycling facilities but to complement them — turning treated oyster shells into high-value materials. Pilot sites and feedstock linkage with Tongyeong City and related agencies are under discussion and have not been confirmed.
Government & public partnership inquiry
We prepare separate briefing materials and demonstration proposals for policy officers.
